End date
8 September 2024 All-day Event
Dolbelydr, a fine example of a 16th-century gentry house, has good claim to be the birthplace of modern Welsh – it was here that Henry Salesbury wrote his Grammatica Britannica, the first Welsh grammar.
These free open days will be an opportunity to see inside this important local landmark and learn more about its history and restoration. Whilst booking is not essential we would ask that you register for the event via Eventbrite so that we can provide you with updates regarding the event.
Opening on the same weekend for the first time is Plas Uchaf, approximately 40-minunte drive from Dolbelydr.
Feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds. We are opening this building in association with Cadw Open Doors.
Free Admission and leaflets on the building’s history available.
Please note, parking is limited on site.
